Jewellery from the North
I prepare jewellery from elk antlers and hoofs. Elk's hoof is a very
attractive material, shimmering like velvet, light and yet strong.
Antlers are also very durable and prosessing reveals their beautiful
myriad of tones. All phases are handwork – every piece of jewellery is
unique.
In this jewellery you can sense elks wandering in Finland's fens and forests, experience the nightless night of summer and the icy coldness of winter. Through the jewellery you'll be able to travel to the fens at dusk and see the elk horns rising among the mist.
With this jewellery I honour the relation to the elk and cherish our ancient but living bond with the North and its mystical nature. This jewellery carries the spirit of ancient wilderness within.
Schmuck aus dem Norden
Ich fertige Schmuck aus Elchgeweih und -hufen. Huf ist ein faszinierend
schönes Material, samtig schimmernd, leicht und dennoch stark. Auch
Horn ist sehr dauerhaft, jede Schnittfläche leuchtet in einer anderen
Farbschattierung. Der Schmuck wird in reiner Handarbeit gefertigt, und
jedes Stück ist ein Unikat.
Spüre wie die Elche die Moore und Hänge Finnlands durchstreifen... Erlebe die nachtlosen Nächte des Sommers und den beißenden Frost des Winters. Wandere durch ein Moor in der Dämmerung... und erblicke im Nebel das Geweih eines Elches.
In meinen Werken ehre ich unsere Beziehung zu Elchen and bezeuge die ewige Verbundenheit zum Norden und seiner mystischen Natur. In diesen Schmuckstücken atmet die Seele der alten Wildnis.
